Ho, ho, ho, hey, hello!!! Happy December first, and more importantly, happy first day of Blogmas! Yes, I’m back, and I’m once again joined on this 25 day journey to the North Pole by Crystal on her Youtube channel. As luck would have it, the first day of Blogmas rolled around just in time for us to recap hometown dates on Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette.
Per the usual for our hometown recaps, I’ll tell you a little bit about my own hometown. I grew up in Hurricane, West Virginia. Hurricane is not at all pronounced the same way as the tropical storm, but I can’t quite figure out how to phonetically type it out. Regardless, it’s important to note that if you show up and pronounce Hurricane like hurricane, you will be playfully mocked.
Hurricane is a small suburb of Charleston, WV, and boasts a badass and recently revamped wave pool, some pretty cool local shops (my favorite is Bear Wood Company), eateries (I hear Whiskey Taco is great!), and best part of all? My family.
If you were on my hometown date, we’d visit the local park, swing by my old dance studio, and leisurely stroll through downtown Hurricane before going to meet my parents and my bestie, Josh. It would be a drama free television cut because all of these people are really nice and tend to trust my decision making kills (and that’s on them, lol).
