BlogOWeen Day 2: Fall Beauty Favorites

It’s getting colder outside, and already, my skin’s so dry, it’s scary. I think even the oily-skinned queens and kings out there go through some texture transition as the seasons change. It can be tough to figure out what works as cooler weather approaches, but hopefully some of my favorites can help!

For reference, I have dry, acne-prone skin with eczema and rosacea, and it’s hypersensitive, which is just so fun! I try not to experiment too much or to involve too many products, but let’s be real, TikTok makes that hard. That said, I’ve got a list of tried and true skincare and makeup favorites that will keep me glowing well into the colder months!

First up, due to its popularity on the internet, I’ve started consistently incorporating vitamin C into my am skincare. There are so many products that don’t noticeably impact my skin, but vitamin C has definitely broken the mold. With consistent use, it really does help to make my skin look brighter, bouncier, and more youthful. I’ve used several vitamin C serums in the past, but I’m really enjoying this Bliss Bright Idea serum that has a light cirtrusy scent and feels hydrating on my skin.

Additionally, I always use an eye cream, and I’ve never really been under or overwhelmed by any of them, but I’ve finally landed on a budget friendly eye gel that is great for sensitive skin and keeps my under eyes bright and moisturized. If those things sound good to you too, look no further than Good Molecules Yerba Mate Wake Up Eye Gel.

Next up? Conquering the dry, flaky, redness that accompanies eczema and rosacea. If you have either of these skin conditions, you’re not alone! And I really do think with consistency and care, we can see big improvements. I’ve tried so many things, but none have compared to the magic of the Skinfix Eczema + Dermatitis Face Balm. This tiny tube of healing ointment packs a punch when it comes to softening and healing skin! I use it nightly, and sometimes even under my makeup during the day! A little goes a long way, and this product takes slugging to a whole new level!

Moving on to makeup, I recently learned that liquid foundations actually exacerbate my rosacea symptoms, who knew?! If you too find your skin flaking and peeling after a day of wearing makeup, then a bb or cc cream may be the solution to your foundation woes! And while I’ve tried and loved several from Bare Minerals, Tarte, and It Cosmetics, the cream of the crop is a drastically cheaper little number, the Wet n Wild Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator. This five dollar sorcery is viral for a reason – it’s full coverage, light feeling, flake-free, and looks flawless all day long. The line could use a massive overhaul on shade range, though!

When it comes to blush, I am the biggest fan. Powder, liquid, cream, I’ve tried them all, and I personally feel like no makeup look is complete without a flushed cheek. I’ve noticed in the past few years that powder blushes tend to emphasize pores and texture on my maturing skin, so I’ve been trying a bunch of liquid and cream blushes and have finally landed on a favorite – the Saie Dew Blush is beginner friendly, so easy to blend with a sponge or brush, and has lasting power, unlike some of its similar competition *cough Glossier Cloud Paint, I’m looking at you cough*. I have mine in the shade Peachy, and it’s one of the few liquid/cream blushes that hasn’t overwhelmed my Casper complexion.

So, there you have it! It is possible to avoid looking like the walking dead as we approach cooler weather. Do you have any cold weather favorite skincare or beauty items?
