BlogOWeen Day 12: Halloween All-Time Favorites

Boo! It’s almost Halloween! Sharing my all-time Halloween favorites!

Movie – after much consideration, I’ve landed on the best of the best, and for me, that’s The Ghost and Mr. Chicken starring none other than the icon himself, Don Knotts. This 1966 masterpiece is the best combination of spooky and funny. I look forward to it every year, and that’s why it takes the top spot in spooky szn movies.

Candy – my absolute number one Halloween candy is Charms Sweet & Sour Pops. If you’ve never had one, you’re totally missing out! They can be kind of tough to find, but Amazon and Five Below pull through always! Close runner-up? Nerd Rope!

Television Show – We’re living in the era of spooky shows, and it’s been downright terrifying. I’ve watched several over the past few years, but when it comes to horror series, Mike Flanagan does it best! My favorite is The Haunting of Bly Manor. I really loved The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass as well, but Bly was the perfect amount of terror – gets the heart racing, but still able to sleep with the lights off, haha.

Costume – I’m certain you guys are tired of me talking about this one, but my favorite costume ever was probably the iPod, featuring “Thriller” as my song, and complete with giant earbuds that I wore like a scarf. I thought this idea was super unique and I still look back on how fun it was putting it all together with my dad.

Television Episode – Nobody does Halloween better than Greendale Community College, and while all of the Halloween episodes of Community are spectacular, my favorite is season 2, episode 6, “Epidemiology”. The dean gets a stellar bargain on “taco meat” and a very rare wave of food poisoning takes the Human Beings celebration from kitschy to Dawn of the Dead in the funniest way possible.

Activity – Call me a basic witch, but going to the pumpkin patch is the most fun falling for fall activity. One of these days, maybe I’ll run into The Great Pumpkin!

Tradition – I mentioned this yesterday, but my favorite Halloween tradition is definitely pumpkin carving with Kyle! Back in WV, it was going to The Pumpkin House. The very obvious theme here? I like pumpkins!

What are some of your all-time favorite Halloween things? I’m so excited to share my costume with you tomorrow!

xoxo Leigh Ann
