Blogmas Day 17: Unique Gift Ideas

It’s one week until Christmas Eve! I repeat, one. week. This is not a drill, people! That said, chatter around the office tells me that lots of people are nowhere near finished shopping, and while I can’t relate, I can help. Here are some really fun gift ideas!

Custom Guess Who game

Last year I had this fleeting thought, “What if I made my best friend a custom Guess Who game?” A quick search on Etsy confirmed that this is indeed a thing, and then the ball was rolling! Best part? No waiting for delivery. I ordered a template from MakeYourOwnCards on Etsy, and an editable digital download was immediately sent to my email. There are templates for every version of the Guess Who game, so I picked up one from my local Target, used Instagram to source all the photos, printed them on sticker paper (but you could also use regular paper and glue), and voila! Custom Guess Who game! I now have the templates in case I ever want to make another, and my best friend and I laughed our butts off playing this last Christmas!

Literally anything from Shutterfly

I frequently use Shutterfly for not only bulk cards, but gifts as well! Shutterfly is so customizable that you can really make any gift super personal and true to your giftee. For Christmas last year, I sent my aunt a memory game to play with her beyond adorable granddaughter, using tons of pictures of the family. More recently, my childhood best friend had a baby, and I used Shutterfly to put together a storybook of my own drawings, detailing out our friendship Peanuts style!

Homesick candles

Homesick is a company that makes candles meant to recall places and memories. They started with states and cities, but have since expanded to include holidays, moments, and even fun collaborations like Harry Potter and Star Wars. I’ve been gifted Homesick West Virginia candles twice, and that’s actually perfect because I keep one at work and one at home! I’m proud to display my home state’s signature scent, which is, for the record, very reminiscent of breakfast, lol.

Bear Wood Company

Am I biased to love Bear Wood Company because it’s a walkable distance from my childhood home, and the owners are beyond kind? Sure! But also, they make absolutely beautiful pieces from reclaimed wood, and while their roots are certainly wild and wonderful, they’ll pay homage to any state, and they’ll do it beautifully. Check out this cool Alaska wall hanging! In the market for something much smaller? Bigger? They have an array of small gifts ranging from coasters to flights, and they even build gorgeous furniture!

Celebs on Sandwiches

If you’re tired of me mentioning Celebs on Sandwiches, then stay tired! I’ll never stop! Celebs on Sandwiches are, quite literally, art prints of celebs sitting on sandwiches. They’re witty, and hilarious, and frankly, very well executed. We have many in our home. We’ve gifted many. And I constantly have a list going of new celebs I’d like to add to the collection. I think these make great and comical gifts. There are so many celebs and fandoms to choose from, I really think there’s a celeb (on a sandwich) for everyone!

These are some fun gift ideas, but we all know the holidays are really about spending time with loved ones and reflecting on the year’s blessings! And food, obviously.
