Hi there! Interrupting your regularly scheduled super Santa program to throw in some November favorites. November was a total whirlwind. I feel like Halloween was yesterday, and now we’re practically halfway through December! Where the heck does the time go? Anyway, despite it’s swiftness, (is this a pun? we shall see) November was a cozy month and I’m excited to share some of my favorite parts of it!
Thor: Ragnarok I’ll be totally honest, this surprises me. Kylebot is super into all the Marvel (and DC) movies, and I am always reluctant to get dragged along. I typically like the movies better than I expect to, but this one was particularly great. Perhaps it’s because it’s notably more comedic than the others, perhaps because I love a good Hemsworth? Whatever the case, I think this flick is definitely worth checking out on the big screen!
Stranger Things and Stranger Things 2 Dude. What rock have I been living under? I went on for way too long assuming that this show wasn’t the show for me and holy moly was I wrong. I binge watched both seasons on consecutive weekends and I am madly in love with every single character (specifically Hopper and Steve tho, Baes with a capital B). If you’re worried that it’s too scary, too eighties, too kid friendly, you’re mistaken on every front and I just cannot recommend this enough. So. Good.
Reputation – Taylor Swift I have been skeptical since the release of the first single. I was skeptical even upon first listen. However, this week I listened on repeat, and wow, do I have thoughts. To me, this is better than 1989 by a long shot. If you’re finding yourself still unsure, I encourage you to forget about the first couple singles because they are not even close to the best tracks on the record. It’s no Speak Now, but I speak for all Swifties when I say this is a good one.
Duncan Hines Perfect Size For 1 mug cakes I’m kind of on a cleaner eating plan, so I hate to even mention these but they are so wonderful. So far, we’ve tried funfetti, cinnamon coffee cake, and cookies ’n cream cake, (my favorite, ahhhh!) and they are just too good. They’re quick and easy, and I will absolutely be reserving my frequent cheats for these.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette Yeah, I get it, I’m two years behind the trend here, but I knew I would love this palette. Good old husband got this for me for our anniversary and I’ve used it on every eyeshadow day since. It smells incredible, and I’m pretty sure a huge range of skin tones could find good use from these colors. Petition for Too Faced to make singles of these, though, because I definitely have two everyday colors that I favor over all the rest!
Gourmand Hair + Body Mist in Pistachio Brûlée Guys. SOS. I’m panicked as I’m writing this because I can’t find it anymore. WOMP. I discovered this little babe at an Urban Outfitters (these are all exclusive to UO) in Asheville and apparently I should’ve purchased a dozen because they don’t have it anymore and it is my favorite scent ever. This is a little bit of a cheat because it’s been a staple since August, but I haven’t mentioned it… It smells like cream soda and has the staying power of an actual perfume. I’m sure the other scents are just as lovely and quality but I am so bummed. If you find this anywhere, let a girl know!
I’m going to take a cue from my girl leighannsays here and do a new segment in all of my favorites posts….
**This Magic Moment** November’s magic moment was hands down Thanksgiving. I was super bummed at the thought of not seeing my parents or my in-laws and figured we’d have some sort of mediocre quick dinner just to say we participated in all the usual traditions. I was totally wrong! I cooked all day, as well as my sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and his girlfriend; we all met up at broseph’s house for a wonderful dinner, and we shared a ton of laughter and fun. I thought Thanksgiving was going to be a total bust, but we had such a great day! Adulting! Not always bad, haha.
What are some of your recent favorites?
